Laser sintering is known for economic rapid manufacture of optionally shaped parts within shortest time - independent of the complexity of their shape and geometry. The component is built up in layers in a powder bed by means of a laser jet. The jet passes over the contour of the layer to be built up, melts the powder and consolidates it.
Components are made from polyamide (filled / non-filled) and polystyrene.
Laser sintering parts can be sealed against most media by subsequent infiltration with epoxy resin. So the parts can be used in the engine bay for example.
